A murmuration is an enormous flock of birds (often starlings) which rise up en masse from the ground or trees around twilight. They swoop and sweep across the sky creating magnificent constantly changing abstract shapes and not one bird ever hets another or crashes to the ground. This is a really wondrous thing to see...
